'American Horror Story' is exactly what is says it is, created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk ('Glee'). Each season is a separate miniseries, taking place in different settings with different characters, and with different storylines. Cast members often return from one season to another playing entirely different roles, most notably Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Zachary Quinto, Dylan McDermott, and Evan Peters.

The First season, re-titled American Horror Story: Murder House, is a modern day (with flashbacks) haunted house tale. The second season (American Horror Story: Asylum) is mostly set in 1964 and concerns the occupants of, yes, a mental institution. The upcoming third season will be titled American Horror Story: Coven. The rumours are of witches, understandably.

American Horror Story: Coven will start on Tuesday 29th October 2013 at 10pm, on Fox, and returns from the mid-season break on Tuesday 14th January 2014.
